The Birth of a Vision: The Story of City Harvest Church Pakistan
The story of City Harvest Church Pakistan is not just about the rise of a building—it is a living testimony of faith, endurance, and the unshakable power of prayer. This journey began with a burning vision carried in the heart of the late Senior Pastor Rauf Sabir, a man of prayer who dreamed of a sanctuary in a place where no church had ever stood before. He faithfully prayed for years for a house of worship where souls could be saved, families strengthened, and the name of Jesus lifted high.
In 2019, that vision took shape through the leadership of Senior Pastor Obed Rauf, Founder and Chairman of City Harvest Church, along with his wife and faithful partner in ministry, Mrs. Pastor Poonam Obed. With persistent prayers and unwavering faith, they decided to take a bold step—to plant a church in Hajji Park Phase 2, near Asif Town No. 2, a community of over 500 households with no place of Christian worship.
But the road was not easy. There were no funds, no building, and many obstacles—financial, physical, and emotional. Doubts arose, challenges mounted, and discouragement often knocked on the door. Yet, in the silence of prayer, God spoke clearly: “Build My sanctuary.” Holding on to this divine promise, Pastor Obed and Pastor Poonam began saving every possible rupee, trusting God for every brick and every stone.
For eight long years, prayers were whispered through tears, and faith was forged in the fire of trials. With the prayerful support of believers around the world, a piece of land was finally purchased. Brick by brick, through sweat, sacrifice, and supernatural provision, the foundation of God’s house was laid.
Then came a day that heaven must have celebrated—18th December 2019, the first church service was held on that holy ground. That day became the birthday of City Harvest Church, a beacon of hope shining brightly in a once-unchurched community.
Today, City Harvest Church continues to grow rapidly, transforming lives and strengthening families. It stands as a powerful testimony that when God gives a vision, He also provides the provision. What once seemed impossible became a reality through prayer, faith, and unwavering commitment.
What began as a dream in the heart of a praying pastor has become a living sanctuary of God’s glory—proof that mountains can be moved, not by strength, nor by might, but by the Spirit of the Lord.
