Statement of Faith – City Harvest Church

At City Harvest Church, we are a Spirit-filled, Bible-based community rooted in the Word of God and the power of the Holy Spirit. Our faith is cantered on Jesus Christ, His finished work on the cross, and His promise to return.

We believe the Scriptures clearly reveal the foundation of our faith and practice. As a Pentecostal church, City Harvest Church holds to the following core beliefs:

  1. The Bible
We believe the Holy Scriptures, both Old and New Testaments, are the inspired and infallible Word of God, the final authority for faith and life.
    • 2 Timothy 3:16–17; 2 Peter 1:20–21
  2. One True God
We believe in one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
    • Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14
  3. The Deity of Jesus Christ
We believe that Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God, conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, fully God and fully man. He lived a sinless life, died on the cross for our sins, rose again, and ascended to heaven.
    • John 1:1–14; Matthew 1:23; 1 Corinthians 15:3–4; Acts 1:9–11
  4. The Fall of Man
We believe man was created in the image of God but fell through disobedience, resulting in sin and separation from God.
    • Genesis 1:26–27; Romans 3:23; Romans 5:12
  5. Salvation by Grace through Faith
We believe salvation is only through repentance and faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ on the cross, not by human works.
    • Ephesians 2:8–9; Acts 4:12; John 3:16
  6. Water Baptism
We believe in baptism by immersion in water, following personal faith in Jesus Christ, as commanded in Scripture.
    • Matthew 28:19; Acts 2:38; Romans 6:3–4
  7. Baptism in the Holy Spirit
We believe in the baptism in the Holy Spirit as a distinct experience from salvation, with the initial physical evidence of speaking in tongues.
    • Acts 2:4; Acts 10:44–46; Acts 19:6
  8. Gifts of the Spirit
We believe the Holy Spirit distributes gifts to believers for the building up of the church and the work of ministry.
    • 1 Corinthians 12:4–11; Romans 12:6–8
  9. Sanctification
We believe sanctification is the process of becoming more like Christ, through obedience, the power of the Spirit, and the Word of God.
    • 1 Thessalonians 4:3; John 17:17; Romans 12:1–2
  • The Church
We believe the Church is the body of Christ, made up of all born-again believers, called to worship, fellowship, discipleship, and mission.
    • Ephesians 1:22–23; Acts 2:42–47; 1 Corinthians 12:12–27
  • Healing
We believe divine healing is provided in the atonement of Christ and is available to all believers today.
    • Isaiah 53:4–5; Matthew 8:16–17; James 5:14–16
  • The Blessed Hope
We believe in the imminent return of Jesus Christ, the resurrection of the dead in Christ, and the rapture of the Church.
    • 1 Thessalonians 4:16–17; Titus 2:13; John 14:1–3
  • The Final Judgment
We believe in the final judgment where the righteous will inherit eternal life with God and the unrighteous eternal separation from God.
    • Matthew 25:31–46; Revelation 20:11–15
  • The New Heaven and New Earth
We believe God will create a new heaven and a new earth, where righteousness dwells and God’s people will live forever in His presence. Revelation 21:1–4; 2      Peter    3:13
